Planting the Seed Covers New Ground

Just in time for Spring! Planting The Seed by Paul Lawler and Mark Holland is the first in the highly anticipated Earth Series collection of recordings from Gemini Sun Records. This beautifully and sensitively composed sequence of native songs from Paul Lawler and St. Louisan Mark Holland remind us of our deep connection to Earth and how we all play a vital role in its preservation.
Each package containing the CD has been specially designed to be planted in the ground, yielding an abundance of wildflowers. Take time to give back by planting this package in a place that has a special meaning to you. In so doing, you pass on the fertile knowledge that we are all here as one, and finding beauty is only an arms reach away.
In addition to the innovative packaging, is the unique way this album was recorded — Holland and Lawler have never met — Lawler lives in the UK.
Lawler heard Holland’s flute playing from his website and Myspace site and liked what he heard. He emailed Holland and asked if he would be interested in recording a CD together. The two musicians have only spoken on the phone twice.
Lawler Emailed MP3 files of the songs, and Holland recorded his flute tracks with engineer, Billy Engel here in St. Louis. The flute melodies flowed out quickly and naturally, and were then emailed back to the UK where Lawler mixed the 10 tracks. Eight of the 10 tracks are compositions of both musicians together.
The music was picked up by Gemini Sun Records CEO, Nicholas Gunn, a wonderful concert flutist in his own right. The deal was made in what Holland calls a very artist-friendly contract. Holland views this album as a side project from his own Cedar ’n’ Sage Music label through which he releases his music with his group, Autumn’s Child. Holland said this very beautiful, chill-out CD is probably not something he would have done on his own — hence the collaboration. And making of what is now known as Planting the Seed was an additional way to add to his discography.
Planting the Seed is distributed world wide by Ryko Distribution. It can be purchase at Holland’s website: www.autumnschild.com by printing out and mailing the order form.
Enjoy the peaceful, relaxing music and watch the flowers grow in a place that has a special meaning to you!
